Services: The Osceola Drug Court Case Management Program coordinates intervention
and other needed services through a comprehensive case management
system. The program seeks to accomplish the following objectives:
(a) make clients aware of the health risks involved with abusing
illicit substances, (b) coordinate a plan of action the client
can follow that will positively impact the client’s life,
(c) link clients to appropriate treatment services, (d) empower
clients to become drug free.
Core services offered by the case managers include:
Screening Services,
Recommendation and Referral to Services,
Random Urinalysis,
Treatment Team Planning &
Case Management Services.
To provide effective case management services, the case
manager will have a caseload of 50 clients. Once the State Attorney’s
Office has deemed a client appropriate for Drug Court, a referral
is made to the case management program for a comprehensive screening.
The screening is conducted to confirm a client’s need for
case management and/or treatment services.
Those clients needing substance abuse and/or mental health treatment
are offered assistance based on available treatment capacity, case
management availability, and the client’s willingness to
enter treatment. The case manager tracks the client’s progress
in treatment and may provide thorough aftercare. Case management
services will be provided for an average of 18 months, or for the
duration of treatment phases. A client file is maintained on each
client referred to the Osceola Drug Court Program and contains
documentation of all client contacts. The case manager will participate
in staffings regarding client progress. The case manager will also
receive monthly reports of a client’s progress from the appropriate
Drug Court partner(s) and report the client’s progress at
the judicial staffing.
