The Adult TASC program coordinates intervention and other needed
services through a comprehensive screening system. The program
seeks to accomplish the following objectives: (a) make clients
aware of the health risks involved with abusing illicit substances,
(b) coordinate a plan of action the client can follow that will
positively impact the client’s life, (c) link clients to
appropriate treatment services, (d) empower clients to become drug
free.
Core services offered by Adult TASC include:
Screening Services, Recommendation and Referral to Services & Random
Urinalysis.
In addition to the drug screen, the Adult TASC screener conducts
the Addiction Severity Index (ASI). With the results of the drug
screen, along with the results of the ASI, and validated information
received from the offender, the Adult TASC screener will prepare
a written report that will indicate, if appropriate, any need for
treatment services. If treatment is indicated, the report will
also state the type of service needed, i.e. outpatient treatment,
residential treatment, etc. Referrals to appropriate community
resources will be provided.
